Activities and Small Groups

Book Club meets approximately monthly to discuss a recent book, generally fiction in light of its spiritual insight. All are welcome. Please contact the office or check our announcements webpage for more details.

Creative Call  is a creativity support group which meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the Grace Church Parish Hall. Creative Call is open to all who wants to explore the creative side of their spirituality.  Each meeting begins with a short devotion followed by some type of creative activity. A regular feature of our program is "show & tell" intended to share the projects we are working on at home. Program highlights from this past year have included a workshop on making prayer beads led by Sr. BJ Brown; working on baby quilts for hospital use; the assembly of cookie jar kits to sell at the Grace Flea Market; and creating Celtic interlace & its use as a prayer devotion. All are welcome!

Education for Ministry is a four-year study program of the University of the South in Sewanee, Georgia, hosted locally at Grace Church in a group of 6-12 participants. There is a fee to participate in this nine-month program and participants receive 18 continuing education credits per year.

Through study, prayer, and reflection, EFM groups move toward a new understanding of the fullness of God's kingdom. This process can be illustrated by a two-rail fence. One rail is the Christian tradition. The other is the collective experience of the group's members. The rails are linked by fence posts which represent the seminar sessions where life and study meet. The fence is grounded in the soil of regular worship which is vital to the life of the group. EFM may be just the right program to help you deepen your faith commitment. EFM participants need not be members of Grace but must register. For more information contact the Grace Church office.
