Children at Grace

The sounds, activities and presence of children during the services at Grace are expected and welcome.

For the youngest children, we have set aside safe "soft spaces" in the Church and Chapel where children can remain with parents and both can be comfortable during the service. You will find these areas in the back of the Church and Chapel and the rear pews are reserved for families with children.

There is a nursery available for children during the 10:30 service as well. Everyone who works with children at Grace Church has attended Safe Church training. We want our children and their families to be comfortable at Grace.

We have many "intergenerational" events with activities for all ages. Be sure to check out our Services and Sunday School page for more children's activities.

Preparation has started for the 2008 Vacation Bible School at Grace. We are going to use the Habitat for Humanity Program again this year. We will need to make some adjustments as Habitat does not update their program. We will need to determine what stories and activities we will use for each day's theme.

Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, February 5th at 7:00 pm. Please feel free to bring a friend.

Memories of....

Vacation Bible School 2007

Grace hosted vacation bible school this summer. This unique program used a construction metaphor to help children learn about community. Bible school was held Monday July 30th through Friday August 3rd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Under Construction is designed for children 6 to 11 years old. There was also a Preschool program designed for children 3-5 years old. Both programs ran simultaneously. A daily offering was taken for Habitat for Humanity. Registration was open for members of the five Brandywine Hundred Episcopal churches and the public.
