USHER MINISTRY |
Ushers work in partnership with the clergy to make each Sunday or Special Day run smoothly. The ushers inspect the pews before each service, provide pleasant greetings, distribute bulletins, help with seating availability, assist at the collection and Communion, clean up after the service, and assist the counter breaking down the weekly offering.
The usher assignment dates are published quarterly and distributed to all active ushers. Ushers are requested to arrange for a replacement if the scheduled date cannot be met and notify Grace Place Office (478-9533) of the change. An usher phone number list has been published and distributed to all ushers.
The Usher Ministry welcomes all who would like to be a part of this special ministry, it is a sure way for newcomers to meet others and feel a part of Grace Church. If interested in joining this ministry, simply speak with any usher who will pass your name along to the head usher.
The revised Usher Manual, dated December 2003, has been published. A copy is always at your fingertips in the table in the rear of the main church. Refinements to the manual, dated February 2004, have been published and distributed. Copies of the phone list and usher notes can be obtained by calling the church office. Any questions or suggestions regarding usher procedures should be referred to Irv Hollingsworth, Usher Ministry Chairperson.
Please make arrangements for your replacement in the event that you cannot serve when scheduled. Then call the Grace Place office, at 478-9533, to notify the secretary of the change.
